Bode-Museum: Mindfulness and Meditation in the Gallery

“The Healing Museum” complements the “Zufluchtsort Bode-Museum” project, which has been running since 2023 and was created in collaboration between the Bode Museum and the Berlin Suicide Prevention Center. The aim of both projects is to make mental health visible, support self-care, and make art history relevant to today’s society through its transversal research with other scientific disciplines.

In the project “The Healing Museum” you can acquire or improve practical skills in the field of mindfulness in a specially curated museum’s room. A selection of stimulating meditations can be accessed free of charge via our audio guide, with your mobile phone, and through this website. Bench and cushions are provided.

You can book a free ticket for “The Healing Museum” or use the offer at any time with a valid admission ticket.

Art museums are places of emotional healing. Medical studies show that visiting them reduces stress and anxiety and improves overall mental health. The project brings together mindfulness, medical research and art history and is the result of a cooperation between the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Bode-Museum. The project is supported by various organizations, including the Berlin Suicide Prevention Center and the Senate Department for Higher Education and Research, Health and Long-Term Care.
