World Suicide Prevention Day 2025
World Suicide Prevention Day 2025 in Berlin
On World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, people around the world come together to create a world in which fewer people die by suicide. This year, the focus is on people bereaved by suicide as well as family and friends of suicidal persons. It is estimated that every suicidal act affects 135 people close to them, such as relatives, friends and colleagues. Suicide or the fear of suicide places a great burden on those around them and leaves them with feelings of despair, powerlessness and helplessness.
Nevertheless, suicide and the consequences for relatives and those left behind are still a taboo subject. Together with you, we would like to raise awareness of the issue, break the silence and promote a culture of openness, understanding and support.
We are delighted that Berlin’s Senator for Health, Dr. Ina Czyborra, has taken on the patronage of the event.
The day focuses on the afternoon and offers the following program:
- 4:30 pm – Opening of the World Day and of the information stands
- 5 pm (Chapel): – Trialogical panel discussion (topic: Suicidal tendencies in close environment – relatives between worry and self-protection). With: Mit Nora Fieling (Ex-In Erfahrungsexpertin und Resilienztrainerin), Jens Gräbener (Berliner Krisendienst), Dr. Susanne Kappesser und Henryk Mainusch (ApK – LV Berlin e.V.), Bettina Schwab (Telefonseelsorge Berlin e.V. + BeSu Berlin)

- 7:30 pm (Church): Church service
